A captivating trailer has been released for the sci-fi thriller The Assessment, which features an all-star cast that includes Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex-Machina), Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision) and Himesh Patel (Yesterday), as well as Minnie Driver, Indira Varma, Charlotte Ritchie, Nicholas Pinnock, Leah Harvey, and Anaya Thorley.
The film is directed by French artist Fleur Fortune in her feature directorial debut. The screenplay is written by Dave Thomas, Nell Garfath-Cox, and John Donnelly.
The synopsis reads:
“Set in the near future, any prospective parents must pass an initial government test in order to prove their suitability for parenthood, then endure a seven-day live-in visit from a facilitator known as the “assessor” who will put them through the wringer in all kinds of imaginable and unimaginable situations where, at the end, they will either get a passing grade — or not.”
This looks like it will range from very uncomfortable to totally unnerving. I love these actors, and this looks like a very original story, so I am looking forward to giving it a watch.
