Jesse Armstrong, the creator of the HBO series Succession, is working on his first-ever movie!
The Emmy-winning writer will make his feature film directorial debut with a new movie that will debut on HBO in spring 2025.
The untitled project will star Steve Carell and more cast members have also been announced. There will be a tight turnaround for the project as it’s first starting filming this month in Park City, Utah, according to Variety.
The movie “follows a group of billionaire friends who get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis.”
Jesse said in a statement, “I’m intrigued to discover whether being around so many brilliant actors and directors on Succession has in any way rubbed off on me. Let’s hope so. I’m grateful to Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi and the whole HBO team for backing this film so wholeheartedly and helping me pull together a dream team of cast and crew.”
