Adam Warlock Actor Will Poulter Says He’d “Definitely Pick Up” If Marvel Calls About AVENGERS Return — GeekTyrant

The Guardians of the Galaxy team might’ve closed out with Volume 3, but one of its newest members is still game for another cosmic ride.

Will Poulter, who made his Marvel debut as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, recently shared his enthusiasm about potentially returning to the MCU, specifically, in one of the upcoming Avengers films like Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.

When asked by ComicBook if he’d be up for it, Poulter didn’t hesitate: “Oh, dude, I’d love it. I had so much fun playing my character, and so, yeah, if they come calling, I’m definitely picking up.”

It’s a simple and sincere response, and Poulter sounds like he’s genuinely down for more Marvel mayhem.

It’s an interesting spot for the actor to be in. Adam Warlock was originally teased back in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, nearly six years before he finally showed up.

And for fans of Marvel Comics, Warlock is a cosmic powerhouse with deep ties to The Infinity Gauntlet saga, and a major player in Infinity War and Infinity Crusade.

So when the MCU announced Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, some fans assumed Warlock would play a key role. Instead, the films took a different route, leaving Warlock on the sidelines… until Gunn’s swan song in Guardians Vol. 3 brought him into the fray.

Now, with Gunn officially off building his DC Universe, the future of characters like Warlock hangs in limbo. But Poulter’s enthusiasm, even with Gunn not returning to Marvel, keeps the door open.

Whether or not Warlock gets another chapter in the MCU, it’s clear Poulter isn’t done with the character, and I hope that he does return because he’s an interesting character that could have a really cool and fun story arc in the MCU.

Marvel can’t introduce a character like this and not utilize him at some point! He’s too powerful and interesting of a character to keep on the sidelines.

While we wait to see if Marvel picks up the phone to make the call, Poulter can next be seen in Death of a Unicorn, which hits theaters on March 28th.
