NBA superstar LeBron James just announced he’s not attending tonight’s 2025 Met Gala, despite being an honorary co-chair this evening.
The 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers basketball player posted the update today, explaining the situation. His wife, Savannah, will attend in his place.
The Met Gala tonight will focus on menswear and suiting with a “Tailored for You” dress code. The event will celebrate the opening of the museum’s new exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
