Jessica Jones is back on the streets of New York City,, and she hasn’t changed a bit. Set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 just dropped, giving us our first look at Krysten Ritter reprising her role as the hard-boiled PI. As you’ll see, she’s still rocking the classic leather jacket and jeans combo.
These new shots show Ritter filming alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, who’s suited up in a sleek black Daredevil costume emblazoned with the red “DD” logo.
While Marvel Studios has remained tight-lipped on plot details, this visual reunion confirms what fans have been speculating, the Defenders may slowly be making their way into the MCU fold.
Ritter previously shared in a statement: “It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU.
“I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!”
Narratively, Jessica’s return tracks with how things left off. After Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) took control as mayor and launched a citywide crackdown on vigilantes, Matt Murdock was left with few allies.
As he assembles a team to push back against Fisk’s rule, it makes perfect sense to bring in someone like Jones, someone who doesn’t play nice, doesn’t care for rules.
Their dynamic in The Defenders was one of the better elements of that messy team-up series, and seeing them working together again in the MCU should be a treat.
No word yet on whether Luke Cage or Danny Rand will follow suit, though both Mike Colter and Finn Jones are reportedly in New York.
