Taylor Swift did not attend the AMAs, shattering the dreams of fans who thought she was going to make a major announcement during the show.
The 35-year-old singer was nominated for six awards at the 2025 American Music Awards and fans came up with theories surrounding the show’s May 26 date.
With fans waiting for Taylor to announce the upcoming release of her album Reputation (Taylor’s Version), theories led fans to believe that she would make the announcement at the awards show.

When Taylor was hyping up the release of her album Midnights years ago, she did a Midnights Mayhem With Me series to announce all of the song titles. The second and the sixth videos in the “May”hem series both featured upside down phones. This led fans to think something would happen on May 26.
Taylor also discounted some items on her website to 26% off recently, adding more fuel to the 26th theory.
With the recent drop of a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) song on a TV show, it seemed like the announcement of the album would be coming soon.
Sadly, that did not happen!
