In honor of the 50th anniversary of the late-night show, the streaming service put together a docuseries. It features appearances from famous cast members and offers “a behind-the-scenes look at some of the American late-night comedy institutions most iconic elements and rich history.”

The likes of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers participated in the series, which stretches over four parts.
Here’s the official synopsis: “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night is a four-part docuseries honoring the legacy of SNL, with over 60 contributors, including SNL alumni, and covering decades of SNL history. Spotlighting some of the show’s most iconic elements, each episode delves into the rich history of SNL and pulls back the curtain on the audition process, the writers’ room, the fan favorite “More Cowbell” sketch and the pivotal Season 11.”
Saturday Night Live recently teased their 50th anniversary celebration, which will take place on February 16. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more details about it.
