The Superman teaser is flying to unprecedented heights. In just the first two days of its release, it has broken records, which signals an extraordinary level of excitement for James Gunn’s vision of the Man of Steel.
Gunn, who serves as both the film’s writer-director and co-head of DC Studios, shared the news of the milestone with fans on social media, revealing that in its first 24 hours, the teaser had over 250 million views and inspired more than one million social media posts.
Gunn proudly announced: “It’s the most viewed and the most talked about trailer in the history of both DC and Warner Bros. […] Thank you! We’re incredibly grateful and, most of all, excited to share this movie with you in July.”
For context, some other recent blockbusters couldn’t quite match this level of buzz. The Joker: Folie à Deux trailer had 167 million views in its first day, while Pixar’s Inside Out 2 teaser hit 157 million views last November.
Even with these impressive numbers, they pale in comparison to Superman’s trailer. However, the all-time high still belongs to the Deadpool & Wolverine teaser, which reached 365 million views earlier this year.
The enthusiasm surrounding the new Superman film reflects years of pent-up demand for a fresh take on the iconic hero.
Now, with David Corenswet stepping into the cape, every detail from his casting to his suit design has sparked discussion and curiosity. Add the intrigue of Gunn’s reimagined DC Universe, and it’s no surprise that Superman’s return is dominating fan conversations.
The film is set to reestablish Superman as a central figure in the DC cinematic universe. If the teaser’s record-breaking success is any indication, audiences are more than ready to see the Man of Steel soar again.
The countdown to July 11, 2025, has officially begun. Are you ready to believe a man can fly?
