Chris Brown will remain in police custody for the next several weeks.
On Thursday morning (May 15), the 36-year-old “Forever” entertainer was arrested hours after landing in Manchester, United Kingdom over an alleged attack that occurred in a London nightclub two years ago.
Following the arrest, Chris has been charged with “grievous bodily harm with intent” in connection with a February 2023 incident.
Keep reading to find out more…While appearing in court on Friday (May 16), District Judge Joanne Hirst informed Chris that charges of grievous bodily harm are “too serious” to be heard in the magistrates’ court and moved the case to a crown court, according to Manchester Evening News.
Chris will be held in custody until the new court date, which has been set for June 13 at the Southwark Crown Court in London.
He was denied bail by the judge, who was presented with evidence that the rapper is a “flight risk.”
Chris had traveled to the UK to play 10 dates as part of his Breezy Bowl XX European Tour. He is scheduled to kick off the tour on June 8 in Amsterdam, but since he’ll still be in police custody, no official postponement has been announced yet.
