Dolly Parton has announced that her husband Carl Dean has died.
On Monday (March 3), the husband of the 79-year-old country music icon passed away at the age of 82 in Nashville, Tenn.
Following Carl‘s passing, Dolly released a brief statement mourning her mourning.
Keep reading to find out more…“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years,” Dolly shared with The Associated Press. “Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
Dolly‘s publicist also told the outlet that Carl will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family in attendance.
If you didn’t know, Dolly and Carl met outside of the Wishy Washy Laundromat the day she moved to Nashville at 18. They married two years later on May 30, 1966 in a small ceremony.
Dolly and Carl kept their relationship very private and she’s only shared a handful of photos of her husband over the years.
In an interview from 2023, Dolly explained why Carl never joined her for a public appearance.
Carl is survived by Dolly and his two siblings, Sandra and Donnie.
