Wanda Maximoff may have brought a mountain down on herself at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned from the MCU, it’s that death is rarely permanent.

And now, Elizabeth Olsen herself is dropping hints that we haven’t seen the last of the Scarlet Witch. Fans have debated whether Wanda’s sharp turn into full-blown villainy in Multiverse of Madness really made sense, especially considering where she left off in WandaVision.

Even Olsen has acknowledged that her character arc hasn’t always been as well-developed as it could have been. In a recent interview, she spoke about the possibility of returning to the role:

“It’s a character I love going back to when there’s a way to use her well and I think I’ve been lucky when I started I was used well… and they kind of didn’t know what to do with me for a second there! If there’s a good way to use her, I’m always happy to come back.”

That’s not exactly a confirmation, but it does sound like she’s willing to retutn to the MCU if Marvel finds the right way to do it.

Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Wanda could have a major role in Avengers: Doomsday or even get her own solo movie, but nothing official has been officially announced. Still, Olsen’s recent comments make it clear she’s not done with the character just yet.

When asked about playing Wanda for over a decade across live-action and animation, she reflected on the experience, saying:

“It’s really unusual. It’s something that’s been incredible. I assume it’s how people feel when they get to do a TV show for a long time. To be able to return to a character and continue to move them forward has been so much fun for me, especially because they gave me something like WandaVision to really blow it all up.

“And from there, Doctor Strange was such a wild and crazy turn. I do feel very lucky that I’ve been able to play a character for over 10 years of my life, and I’d love to keep doing more. But the animation thing, I feel like it’s a parallel world.

“I don’t really know how it intersects with what we do. But I’ve really enjoyed getting to play her over 10 years, and I continue to feel lucky that I have the opportunities I did, creatively.”

That sure doesn’t sound like someone ready to say goodbye to Wanda Maximoff.

Wanda’s “body” briefly appeared in Agatha All Along as part of a magical construct trapping Agatha Harkness. In the finale, “Ghost Agatha” even teamed up with Billy Maximoff to find his lost brother Tommy. If Marvel is laying the groundwork for a Maximoff family reunion, Wanda’s return feels inevitable.
