Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, Jaws is making a triumphant return to the big screen for its 50th anniversary. This summer, Steven Spielberg’s legendary thriller is resurfacing in theaters nationwide, giving fans the chance to experience the original summer blockbuster the way it was meant to be seen… on the big screen with an theater filled with fans.
The Jaws anniversary festivities kick off in April at the TCM Classic Film Festival with a special screening of the film. Universal is then rolling out a full theatrical re-release from August 29 through September 4, allowing audiences across the country to relive the terror of Amity Island’s most infamous resident.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is diving in early, launching its Jaws celebration over Memorial Day weekend. These screenings will feature a specially curated menu, themed props, and exclusive limited-edition popcorn buckets and merchandise.
For the hardcore fans, the Jaws on the Water event returns on June 21 with a screening in Martha’s Vineyard where the movie was originally filmed. If floating in open water while watching Jaws sounds like your kind of thing, additional screenings will take place at Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, throughout June and July.
Beyond the big screen, a 50th anniversary edition of the film will be released on physical and digital formats this summer, packed with new bonus features.
If streaming is more your speed, Jaws, along with its sequels (Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws: The Revenge), will be available on Peacock starting June 15.
Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are also getting in on the action with exclusive Jaws-themed merchandise launching in May. Expect to see collectible items like a themed sipper, bucket hat, baseball cap, crossbody bag, cooler bag, and more.
Looking further ahead, Jaws: The Exhibition is set to make waves at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The exhibit, which runs from September 14, 2025, to July 26, 2026, will offer fans a deep dive into the making of the film and its lasting impact on cinema.
And if that’s not enough, new Jaws-inspired products—spanning fashion, toys, publishing, and collectibles—will be hitting shelves throughout the year.
