Pedro Pascal has become quite popular in recent years. Since starring in The Mandalorian, his career has jumped to next level greatness.
But like many actors, he had to hustle his way up through the Hollywood system and sometimes, that meant bending the truth. But some of the lies he told are pretty wild!
In a recent chat on The A24 Podcast with Babygirl director Halina Reijn, Pascal admitted that back in the day, he wasn’t above throwing out a few well-placed lies to make himself sound more successful than he actually was.
The actor confessed: “I had the same experience watching these children in [Steven] Spielberg movies. I was like, ‘I’m jealous of Elliot. I wanna meet the alien.’“
“I remember reading a story about how Spielberg met Heather O’Rourke, who played Carol Anne in Poltergeist in a park, and I was like, ‘What park?!'”
“I was so obsessed I started to lie. I remember trying to convince somebody that I was Christian Bale on the poster of Empire of the Sun.”
That wasn’t the only time he fudged the facts. Pascal also told people he was about to appear in Twin Peaks before the show even premiered.
“And speaking of our beloved David Lynch, I told everyone that I was gonna be in Twin Peaks before it premiered on ABC.”
He laughing admitted: “Those lies always caught up to me by the way, in a terrible way.”
Pascal has often shared how tough his early years were, even crashing on friend Sarah Paulson’s couch while struggling to book roles. But soon enough, he landed his first break with a guest spot on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
“I want [Sarah Michelle Gellar] to know that I remember every moment of shooting that episode, as brief as it was. She was such a kind scene partner, and we had the best time. It was a super big deal.”
Fast forward to today, and there’s no need for Pascal to tell anymore tall tales. The actor has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, set to play Mr. Fantastic in The Fantastic Four: First Steps alongside Joseph Quinn, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
