May the 4th is here, and if you’re a Star Wars fan or collector, you know the new merch drop is half the fun. This year’s Star Wars Day celebration isn’t holding back. While LEGO and other Disney Store exclusives are sure to make headlines, the lightsaber hilt launches are once again stealing the spotlight.
The biggest announcement? A limited edition Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll lightsaber hilt set, inspired by the characters from Ahsoka. Ivanna Sakhno’s Shin and the late Ray Stevenson’s Baylan (now played by Rory McCann in Ahsoka Season 2) became instant fan favorites, and their lightsabers are finally getting the high-end collectible treatment.
The set is limited to just 4,000 units, making it one of the rarest releases in recent memory. Both hilts come in the same set, which is expected to retail somewhere between $400–$500. The blades (sold separately) glow orange when attached, an intentional nod to the duo’s ambiguous Force alignment.
Also joining the lineup is a new hilt based on Jedi Master Sol, the character played by Lee Jung-jae in The Acolyte. Fans spotted this hilt earlier in April at Galaxy’s Edge with a price tag of $159.99. You can go here to order.
What makes it stand out is that it shifts color from blue to red, reflecting a key character moment from the series.
While official Disney Store listings hadn’t gone live at the time of writing, both the Shin/Baylan set and the Master Sol hilt go on sale at 8am PT / 11am ET on May 4th. Expect a virtual queue, and if last year is any indication, you’ll want to be logged in early.
Oh, and for those who missed out the first time, the Mara Jade Skywalker lightsaber is also making a surprise return in a limited 3500-piece run. That hilt sold out fast during its initial release, so if you want it, you’ve got to act fast.
