Lionsgate has released the trailer for the upcoming dramady Everything’s Going to be Great, which centers on a theater family.
As the Smart family wrestle with their over-sized dreams, they come to realize that the struggle to find your voice & your place in the world can happen no matter what stage of life you’re in.
The movie stars Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney and it was directed by Jon S. Baird (Filth, Stan & Ollie, Tetris).
The synopsis reads: “There’s no business like show business — for Buddy and Macy Smart (Bryan Cranston & Allison Janney) that means an unpredictable life working in regional theater while trying to raise their radically different sons, Lester & Derrick.
“Through it all, Buddy pursues his unstoppable dreams, and Macy is left to pull it all together and keep the family afloat. As the family grapples with identity and belonging, they share a humorous and heartfelt journey of self-discovery, learning the power of owning your spotlight, no matter what stage of life you’re in.”
It’s explained that Janney and Cranston’s chemistry “grounds the film’s journey through artistic ambition and life’s unexpected detours… the tender exploration of how families navigate change and disappointment resonates with authenticity as these deeply human characters stumble toward reconciliation & renewal in this stirring celebration of life’s messy beauty.”
The movie also stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Jack Champion, Simon Rex, and Chris Cooper. It looks charming and delightful little indie film that might just be worth your time.
Everything’s Going to be Great will be released on June 20th, 2025.
